The Pen and Gavel is an outlet for my thoughts. The Pen represent my desire to put words on paper, in telling tales of people, but also my own thoughts, stories and poetry. The Gavel has many symbolic meanings, it has played an important role in my adult life, but for me it represent good judgment and leadership. It’s a reminder to myself to try my best to better myself, my works and those around me. Hence the motto of this venture. Bonum Iudicia et Verba Prohibet Contumellam et Malleo, Good Judgments and Words Prevents Insults and the Hammer.

Here honestly I will post about anything I want including, but not limited to, the following: Short stories, poetry, medicine, Astronomy and space exploration, general science, food, culture, travel, books, and movies. I also plan to continue my original ultra low budget cooking show, Dr. Chef. In the near future I will start The Second Breakfast Club podcast. In a world laden with problems and anger this podcast is aimed at looking at that which’s gives people a modicum of joy, discussion about hobbies, media, sports, careers and other topics that make people happy and they want to share with others.

I hope whoever reads, watches or listens is entertained and enlightened somewhat by what I do here, but in the end this is my catharsis, my outlet, my need to put pen to paper.
