Onward and Fight

Onward the men walk
Through the mountain pass.
Absolute silence, no talk,
A fading sun of brass.
Yet onward the men go.
Because they all know:

Ours is not to live in fright.
Ours is not to fear the night.
Ours is to go onward and fight!

The Night removes their vision,
Down the mountain side.
Below the rabble screams derision,
The sound their only guide.
Yet onward the men go,
Because they all know:

Ours is not to live in fright.
Ours is not to fear the night
Ours is to go onward and fight!

Enemies in the Valley below,
Arrayed in anger and hate.
“Charge! Reap what they sow!”
And thus they go to their fate.
And onward the men go,
Because they all know:

Ours is not to live in fright.
Ours is not to fear the night.
Ours is to go onward and fight!
